Who we are

The concept of Confined Space Coffee was conceived in 2020 when Matt and Brad were supporting a refinery shutdown as a Confined Space Rescue Team. The discussion revolved around keeping workers engaged in safety. In a moment of ingenuity, Brad informed Matt that he had skillfully installed a coffee pot inside the rescue trailer.

The following morning, Matt brought coffee and doughnuts for the rescue team. Soon, other workers smelled the enticing aroma and wanted to join in. This newfound interaction led to numerous conversations about confined spaces: OSHA’s definition, what constitutes a permit-required confined space, when a rescue team is necessary, what is a rescue plan and so on.

It was fun and exciting to see an increased engagement in safety among the workers with the host client noticing a reduction in incidents. In a moment of divine inspiration, Matt laughed and said, “We should create our own coffee that helps engage workers, employers, managers, and customers in understanding confined space safety issues. We could call it Confined Space Coffee!” Brad agreed, and the journey began.

Fast forward to 2024… Caleb joined in the fun! A former combat medic with skills in graphic design, a passion for coffee and mental health. Confined Space Coffee was born!

Confined Space Coffee aims to blend exceptional coffee with a unique cause, leveraging seasoned backgrounds and unique contributions to create a blend that not only satisfies coffee enthusiasts but also sparks important conversations about occupational safety in confined spaces.
